Anzac Memorial Centenary - Sydney

Anzac Memorial Centenary - Sydney

Originally inaugurated in 1934, the original building of the Anzac War Memorial in Hyde Park, Sydney, was the brainchild of architect Bruce Dellit.

The new spaces were adorned with high-quality materials, contemporary equivalents of those used for the original building: stone and concrete.

The warm tones of precast concrete influenced the choice of limestone - Aurisina marble - used for the flooring of the Hall of Service and the cladding of the new stairway connecting the Hall of Service to the Memorial.

The depth, warmth, and honed finish of Aurisina marble contribute to the diffusion of natural light in the Hall of Service. The limestone paving patterns were designed to seamlessly integrate with the building.
