OUR HISTORY
Our century-old history has its roots in an uninterrupted family tradition that began in 1876 with Guido Pizzul, followed by his sons and nephews, up to the current management, led by Ruggero Pizzul.
In 1876, Guido Pizzul founded Pizzul Srl, a company specialized in natural stone processing. Over the years, the company expanded its operations, focusing on the importation, processing, and sale of natural stones from around the world.
With 140 years of experience, Zenith C Spa now trades hundreds of varieties of natural stones in the form of blocks, slabs, and finished products, catering to both corporate and private clients worldwide.
In 2022, Zenith C Spa acquired Cava Romana Spa, adding to its portfolio the management of the adjacent Aurisina Quarries, from which the prized grey Aurisina marble is extracted and marketed in blocks, slabs, and finished products worldwide.
THE HISTORY OF THE AURISINA QUARRY
The origins of the Aurisina Quarries date back to the time of the Roman Empire. Historical documents testify to the extensive use of Aurisina marble in Aquileia from the 1st century BC to the 5th century AD, as well as in the construction of monumental works such as the Mausoleum of Theoderic in Ravenna.
Reactivated in 1845 under the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Aurisina Quarries began their industrial development, contributing to the urban renewal of cities such as Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Munich, and Trieste. They played a significant role in the construction of grand monumental works, including the Milan Central Station and the Vienna Opera House.
Thanks to the international vision of the new management, Aurisina marbles currently embellish the most prestigious buildings in cities such as London, New York, Mexico City, Tel Aviv, New Delhi, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Seoul, Taiwan, and Jakarta.
